We are just entering the rainy season, and Akita Copy wanted to remind everyone in our tampa copier service area to put a surge suppressor on your copier or multifunction printer.
You don’t want to use your business’ insurance deductible on an office copy machine lightning strike, do you?
Do you remember hurricane Charley in 2004… then Frances…then the others…
Well, guess what… As bad as these storms were in the Tampa area, most of our customers saved themselves a bundle of money.
Why???
Our copier service department suggested that all of our copiers and multifunction printers in the tampa copier service area have surge protectors.
Features to consider for your office copier’s surge protector:
- Ethernet plugs. You don’t want surges in these guys.
- Phone/fax plugs- The copier’s fax is probably our most common victim
- Copier power cord
- UL 1449 listed and UL 1449 rev2 listed
- Failure indicator-buzzers usually are good attention grabbers, but a little annoying
- Status light for proper grounding and functioning
- Get as many joules protection as possible
- Make sure to read the warranty and “insurance” that’s included
